In accordance with the latest survey conducted by the UK Gambling Commission both online and land-based options have increased.

The survey shows that 8.8% of UK adults participated in at least one form of remote gambling in the last year, and this figure corresponds with the same percentage in 2007 which was up from 7.2% in 2006. Nearly have of this percentage was made up of adults participating in National Lottery games via remote means of wagering.

As the survey shows, the average online bettor is a male from 18 to 44 years old. As for the UK female bettors, they are believed to make up the larger portion of online bingo activities.

The most popular form of remote gambling is via computer (7% of the surveyed). Then, it is followed by mobile phones and interactive digital TV (2% of the surveyed).
